Toshiba honeycomb tablet's touch screen LCD is capacitive, bright and responsive and looks good.

Toshiba has now come out with Toshiba AT200 in its latest range of Toshiba honeycomb tablets. When Toshiba releases its first tablet computer, the Toshiba thrive, it was a heavy 1.6 pounds in weight.

It had a Nvidia Tegra 2 processor 10.1 inch multi-touch LED backlit display at 1200 x 800 resolution. It was the first of the kind to have a removable back which could be replaced with colored ones.

They were available in 8GB and 32GB for $429.99 and $579.99 respectively. Honestly it wasn’t very impressive in its looks. It was extremely unwieldy in hands and honestly, it looked a little ugly. It has a rugged rubberized look, although it reduces the risk of damage if the user drops it.

Toshiba AT200 is the latest range of Toshiba honeycomb tablets. It’s a new 10.1 android honeycomb tablet. But guess what? It’s the thinnest tablet so far. Its just 7.7mm or 0.3 inch thick! It has out-svelte, even the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 by a millimeter. And yes, about its weight, its just 19.7 ounces (558gms) in spite of its brushed metal back. It is ultra-thin and ultra light.

The Toshiba honeycomb tablets feel sturdy and are well-constructed. Its touch screen LCD is capacitive, bright and responsive. The high-definition screen displays pictures with crisp colors and in full detail. It looks good, because it does not have any buttons on the face of the tablet, just the lens of the 2 mega pixel front facing camera. Besides that, on the back panel there’s a 5 mega pixel shooter that can capture 720 pixel high definition video.

The cameras make it ideal for video conferencing. It also has stereo speakers with SRS Labs technology. The new Toshiba honeycomb tablet offers a very rich web browsing experience which includes the adobe flash player support and has access to more than 25000 apps on android market. It meets the preference for usage in tablets because it offers an awesome wide-view display for comfortable content display.

Other tan that just like Toshiba thrive, there are plenty of ports like the Micro USB, Micro SD, and Micro HDMI making it available to connect to other devices easily. The micro-HDMI port allows streaming HD content to the large screen of a TV. The usual features like 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Accelerometer, gyrometer, electronic compass and ambient light sensors are all there too.

Toshiba claims that the battery life is 8 hrs for video playback in spite of being so thin and light. Inside, there’s a 1.2GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor and 64GB RAM memory, and it runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb.

The tablet feels quite responsive, moving around the UI is fast, and the internet pages load quickly. This model of Toshiba honeycomb tablets doesn’t look like the apple Ipad, but it has dispelled all the myth about Toshiba not capable of beautiful designs.

It is built to exceed expectations. It is powerful, robust and stylish. It has been extremely masterfully engineered. It is available with 16GB or 32GB of internal memory. Because it is so light Toshiba honeycomb tablet AT200 is extremely mobile.

In Toshiba’s own words it is “stylishly durable and has slip-resistant Easy Grip finish.”

The Toshiba tablet - Thrive features full size USB 2.0 and HDMI ports, along with a mini-USB port and a standard sized SD card slot.

Toshiba tablets are widely used in markets. They have become a huge success in recent years. Toshiba has overtaken several of its competitors in the tablets market whether it is Samsung, Nokia etc. Recently Toshiba has announced an unnamed android tablet. It comes in a slinky design and powerful features.

This tablet runs honeycomb variant of Google’s android software and sports a 10-inch screen with 720p resolution, a 5 megapixel rear camera complemented by a 2- megapixel front-cam, an HDMI-out port and Nvidia’s Tegra 2 processor. There’s more connectivity than you can shake a stick at, with USB 2.0 and mini-USB ports. Plus the obligatory Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. An SD card slot also scores over devices such as i-pad giving you expandable storage.

Toshiba thrive is a kind of tablet launched by Toshiba which has given extreme competition to i-pad 2 of Apple. The device features full size USB 2.0 and HDMI ports, along with a mini-USB port and a standard sized SD card slot, which accepts cards, via the USB port. For example we can connect keyboards and speed through any chore that requires typing, an external hard drive can also be attached which means we can easily access or back up just about any sort of content.

At the heart of Thrive is a dual-core Nvidia tegra 2 processor, a mobile CPU that’s specifically designed to devour a minimum of power while providing amph oomph for processor-intensive applications.

It has two built in touch screen keyboards. Those include the standard Android version and Swype, an app that lets you draw words by running your finger from letter to letter as program predicts the word you want. Both work via the capacitive touch screen, which detect changes in an electrical field on the screen’s surface.

The screen also provides haptic feed back in the form of vibrations, which gives you tactile confirmation that the tablet is receiving your finger processes. Most haptic feedback systems use small motors which produce vibrations, giving a livelier feel to what would otherwise be a lifeless touch sensation.

The exterior of the thrive Is what’s called Easy grip, a rubberized and texturized backside that’s designed to provide you with a secure hold. The thrive’s battery is also replacable. You can charge the battery with the included laptop-sized AC adaptor which also enables us to use a Bluetooth keyboard.

It offers even more when It comes to visual capabilities. A forward facing camera is 5-megapixels and a user facing camera is 2-megapixel. You can still capture picture or video with either, meaning that video conferencing is an option via Google chat.

The tablet also has an integrated gyroscope and accelerometer. These sensors detect the tablet’s tilt angle and movement. Certain types of games such as driving simulators, you can turn the tablet back and forth like a steering wheel to guide movements within the game.

The Toshiba thrive does provide a utilitarian range of tools found in no other current tablet. Email , chat , video chat, tweet whatever the future thinks up next is what Toshiba is about.
